Objective Clay’s Community of Ceramic Artists Unites to Advance the Field and Support Each Other’s Growth

Members of Objective Clay are all dedicated ceramicists who want to see each other succeed and the pottery industry thrive. Originally formed in 2012 by a group of artists who saw a void in the ceramics community’s availability of a communal support system, Objective Clay has since expanded to include eleven seasoned professionals, each of whom adds something special to the table.

The people who make up Objective Clay are all committed artists who share a love of clay and an optimism about the medium’s potential. They are dedicated to expanding the possibilities of clay, trying out new methods, and making art that is both beautiful and important.

Collectively, the members of Objective Clay provide a variety of services and tools for the advancement of ceramics as a whole and its individual members. The residency program is a major means by which the collective helps its participants. Artists can take advantage of the program’s tools and the encouragement of their peers as they work on new projects.

To further its mission of fostering the next generation of ceramic artists, Objective Clay also hosts public workshops and courses. The goal of the collective’s ceramics workshops and courses is to foster the next generation of creative thinkers and doers while also elevating clay’s status as an essential artistic medium.

As well as a residency program and instructional opportunities, members’ work is showcased in virtual exhibitions and a web store run by Objective Clay. These tools allow the group’s artists to reach a worldwide audience and make connections with art patrons and buyers from all corners of the globe.

Perhaps most significantly, there is a strong sense of community and mutual support among the members of Objective Clay. Collective members are dedicated to supporting one another’s artistic development and promoting ceramics as a whole. They are expanding the possibilities of porcelain art by working together, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another to produce innovative works.

Objective Clay is an inspiring example of what can be accomplished when artists work together toward a shared goal, in a world where individualism and competition are often prized over collaboration and mutual support. Members of Objective Clay, through their work, advocacy, and feeling of community, are raising the profile of ceramics and encouraging a new generation of artists to experiment with the medium.
